We have distinct guidelines to follow for receiving new prescriptions, refills on prescriptions, and ADD or ADHD medication for your child. Please see below.
New Prescriptions
In general, we do not prescribe new medications or make any specific medication changes over the telephone. We ask that you make an appointment so that your child can see a physician.

Refills
We are happy to call in a prescription refill to your pharmacy. If they are needed for ongoing treatment, you can request a refill without a follow-up visit to the office.
ADD / ADHD
These prescriptions must be presented to the pharmacy in their original form. It is our policy that each month you must call our office to receive a refill. You sign for the prescription, your child must be periodically evaluated throughout the year by the physician to continue on the medication.

Telephone Care Policy
Telephone calls represent a significant amount of time. While they may, at times, provide the patient with a substitute for costly office or emergency room visits, they can also require a high level of assessment skill and potential malpractice risk for our office. We are happy to provide this service to our patients, but we do reserve the right to bill for certain items, at the discretion of the physician. Examples of these services include, but are not limited to: Medical management, coordination of care with other physicians, requests for forms and or / medically related letters, and prescription requests. Many health plans will reimburse for these items; guarantors are responsible for non-covered costs. If any discrepancies or problems arise, we will be happy to discuss them with you.

Well Child Visits
All well child exams and physicals are performed by appointment only. Schedule your child’s exam in advance to make sure they stay on schedule. Please be aware that June, July and August are very busy due to back to school exams.
Sick Appointments
Our telephone lines open at 8:30 AM Monday through Friday. Please call as early as you can to ensure a same-day appointment for your child. In most cases, your appointment will be scheduled with the provider that is first available. Due to the personal, focused care that we want to provide for each child, walk-ins are very strongly discouraged.
